The eighth edition of the YPEF contest announced!

The YPEF International Commission announces the eighth edition of the international contest Young People in European Forests.


National stages of the contest will be held between 1st of February and 1st of August 2018. The European Stage will be organized by Lithuanian Foresters Association  and will take place in autumn 2018 in the place indicated by the organizers from Lithuania.

The sixth edition of the YPEF contest announced!

The YPEF International Commission announces the sixth edition of the international contest Young People in European Forests. National stages of the contest will be held between 1st of February and 15th of September 2016. The European Stage will be organized by YPEF National Commission Latvia and will take place at the end of September or beginning of October 2016 in Latvia.

The third edition of the YPEF contest is announced!

On 7th - 8th of November took place the meeting of the YPEF ICC in Vienna. The third edition of the YPEF contest has been announced!  The schedule of the contest is as follows:  8th November 2012 – 30th November 2012 preparations to the contest – preparing educational materials; 1st  December 2012  – 31st January 2013  participants’ preparations, learning for the contest;
1st  February 2013 – 31st  May 2013  3rd edition, national stages in all YPEF partner countries;  September 2013, Portugal – 3rd edition, final stage.

Here you can find the new rules of the contest YPEF 2012/2013 .

During the meeting the YPEF ICC has been transformed to the YPEF International Commission and the YPEF new program, included new contests platform and YPEF school network has been discussed.
In the meeting participated representatives  of the organizations from Austria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland.

G. Janez Potočnik – Evropski Komisar za okolje je prevzel pokroviteljstvo nad drugo izvedbo YPEF!!!

Mr. Janez Potočnik - European Commissioner for Environment 21. decembra je dr. Janez Potočnik – Evropski Komisar za okolje poslal pismo Mednarodni Komisiji za Tekmovanje YPEF s katerim je sporočil, da je prevzel pokroviteljstvo nad drugo izvedbo tekmovanja YPEF.

Vabilo k sodelovanju na mednarodnem tekmovanju »Mladi v evropskih gozdovih«


»Mladi v evropskih gozdovih« je mednarodno mladinsko tekmovanje, ki želi mladim približati pomen gozdov in zavarovanih območij Natura 2000 v evropskem prostoru. Na mednarodni ravni je organizator tekmovanja mednarodna komisija YPEF, ustanovljena s strani The State Forests National Forest Holding in poljske organizacije Forest Friends Association.

Zveza Tabornikov Slovenije in Gozdarski Inštitut Slovenije v sodelovanju z mednarodno komisijo tekmovanja YPEF (Young People in European Forests) vas vljudno vabita k sodelovanju.

Svojo udeležbo na tekmovanju lahko potrdite z izpolnjenim prijavnim obrazcem, ki ga pošljete na elektronski naslov andrej.verlic@gozdis.si še pred 1. marcem, 2012.

Tekmovanje na nacionalni ravni je sestavljeno iz dveh stopenj, regijske in nacionalne stopnje. Zmagovalna ekipa na nacionalni stopnji se udeleži mednarodnega tekmovanja YPEF, ki se bo odvijalo v Estoniji zadnji teden septembra, 2012.

Pravila mednarodnega tekmovanja "Mladi v evropskih gozdovih" YPEF 2011/12


»Mladi v evropskih gozdovih« je mednarodno mladinsko tekmovanje, ki želi mladim približati pomen gozdov in zavarovanih območij Natura 2000 v evropskem prostoru. Organizacija tekmovanja poteka pod okriljem institucije pristojne za gozdarstvo in nevladne organizacije, ki skrbi za neformalno izobraževanje o gozdu in gozdarstvu. Tako je na mednarodni ravni organizator tekmovanja mednarodna komisija YPEF, ustanovljena s strani The State Forests National Forest Holding in poljska organizacija Forest Friends Association. V Sloveniji tekmovanje koordinirata Zveza Tabornikov Slovenije in Gozdarski Inštitut Slovenije


Tekmovalci


1. V Sloveniji se tekmovanja lahko udeležijo dijaki vseh srednjih šol.
2. Ekipo sestavljajo trije dijaki, pri čemer morajo biti dijaki iz treh različnih razrednih stopenj. Vsaj eden izmed treh tekmovalcev v ekipi mora imeti dobro znanje angleškega jezika. Vsaka srednja šola lahko na tekmovanje prijavi le eno ekipo s 3 dijaki.
3. Tekmovanje na nacionalni ravni je sestavljeno iz dveh stopenj – regijske in nacionalne stopnje (finale).


Teme in vsebina tekmovanja

 

4. Teme iz področja naravoslovja vsebujejo znanja iz geografije, ohranjanja narave in poznavanja evropskih gozdov. Več o temah in vsebini tekmovanja lahko najdete na uradni spletni strani
( www.ypef.eu ).
5. Ekipe odgovarjajo na enak seznam vprašanj. Vprašanja naključno izbere mednarodna komisija iz predloga vprašanj, oblikovanega s strani vseh udeleženih evropskih držav.
6. Vprašanja za tekmovanje so pripravljena v angleškem jeziku.
7. Udeleženci se lahko na tekmovanje pripravijo s pomočjo materialov v angleškem jeziku, ki jih najdejo na spletni strani ( www.ypef.eu ).


Potek tekmovanja


8. Prva faza (regionalna) nacionalnega dela tekmovanja bo potekala na tistih srednjih šolah, ki se bodo na tekmovanje prijavile pred 1. marcem 2012. Na tekmovanje se tako lahko prijavi 158 šol iz 12 regij. Vsaka srednja šola lahko prijavi le eno ekipo s tremi člani. Prijavo na tekmovanje v obliki obrazca morajo šole poslati po elektronski pošti na naslov andrej.verlic@gozdis.si. Obrazec mora vsebovati podpis ravnatelja šole in učitelja – koordinatorja. Tekmovanja se dijaki udeležijo prostovoljno.
9. Vsaka srednja šola sama določi učitelja, ki bo imel vlogo koordinatorja tekmovanja.
11. Prva faza (regionalna) bo potekala 20. aprila 2012, na vseh srednjih šolah, ki so svojo prijavo oddale pred 1. marcem 2012. Na dan tekmovanja bodo koordinatorji po elektronski pošti prejeli seznam vprašanj, ki ga bo poslala mednarodna evropska komisija "YPEF".
12. Vse sodelujoče srednje šole morajo tekmovanje opraviti na isti dan, to je 20. april 2012, najkasneje do 18. ure.
13. Tekmovanje poteka v obliki testne pole, kjer tekmovalci obkrožijo pravilen odgovor na posamezna vprašanja, oblikovana na podlagi gradiva dostopnega na spletni strani ( www.ypef.eu ). Za vsak odgovor na vprašanje lahko ekipa prejme 1 ali 0 točk. Pravilen odgovor se točkuje z 1 točko, nepravilen odgovor pa z 0 točkami. Vsako vprašanje ima na voljo le en pravilen odgovor. Vsak odgovor je lahko izbran le enkrat. Popravki in črtanje odgovorov niso dovoljeni.
14. Koordinatorji posameznih srednjih šol bodo po zaključeni prvi fazi prejeli pravilne odgovore po elektronski pošti. Na podlagi teh odgovorov morajo biti preverjeni in ocenjeni odgovori na vprašanja, ki so jih ekipe obkrožile na tekmovanju. Najkasneje do konca maja 2012 je potrebno napisati poročilo o popravljenih testnih polah in pripraviti seznam članov ekipe, ki je dosegla najvišje število točk. Testne pole in poročila morajo biti nato pregledana še s strani Nacionalne tekmovalne komisije.
15. Zveza tabornikov Slovenije in Gozdarski Inštitut Slovenije imenujeta nacionalno tekmovalno komisijo, katere naloga je preveriti testne pole in poročila.
16. Ekipe, ki znotraj regije dosežejo najvišje število točk, sodelujejo v drugi fazi nacionalnega dela tekmovanja, ki bo potekalo 14. maja 2012. Postopek izvedbe in ocenjevanja je enak postopku za prvo (regionalno) fazo. Na tej stopnji lahko sodeluje tudi več ekip iz iste regije, če so te v prehodni fazi tekmovanja dosegle enako najvišje doseženo število točk. Rezultati in poročila morajo biti poslani najkasneje do 18. maja 2012. Na nacionalnem tekmovanju zmaga ekipa z doseženim najvišjim številom točk.
17 V primeru večjega števila ekip z doseženim najvišjim številom točk na nacionalnem tekmovanju, bo Nacionalna tekmovalna komisija primerjala seštevke točk obeh faz tekmovanja in tako določila le enega zmagovalca. Če tudi tako ne bo možno določiti le ene najboljše ekipe, bodo ekipe z enakim najvišjim doseženim številom točk pozvane k elektronski predstavitvi (npr. v programu Microsoft PowerPoint). Predstavitve bodo potekale konec maja 2012 v prostorih Gozdarskega Inštituta Slovenije. Vsebina predstavitev se mora navezovati na vsebino tekmovanja, vendar mora biti vezana na slovenski prostor (gozd, gozdarstvo, NATURA 2000 v Sloveniji).
18. Komisija bo na podlagi strokovne ocene izbrala najboljšo predstavitev in razglasila zmagovalno ekipo.


Nagrade


19. Na nacionalni ravni je glavna nagrada mednarodnega tekmovanja "Mladi v evropskih gozdovih" brezplačna udeležba zmagovalne ekipe s spremljevalcem na mednarodnem evropskem tekmovanju, kjer so prav tako predvidene nagrade za zmagovalne ekipe in njihove spremljevalce.
20. Nacionalna tekmovalna komisija bo najboljše ekipe nagradila s simboličnimi priznanji.
20. Tekmovanje YPEF 2011/2012 na mednarodni ravni se bo odvijalo v zadnjem tednu septembra 2012. Število ekip iz različnih evropskih držav, ki bodo sodelovale na mednarodnem tekmovanju določi mednarodna tekmovalna komisija na podlagi rezultatov tekmovanja na nacionalni ravni.

 

2st edition of the International Contest
„Young People in European Forests” YPEF 2011/2012
Rules for the National Stage



    The International Contest „Young People in European Forests” YPEF 2011/2012 is targeted at young people from European countries. Its purpose is to promote the biodiversity of European nature, the sustainable forestry, and above all knowledge of the forests of Europe, with particular reference to Nature 2000 sites. The organization of the competition is based on the partnership between institutions responsible for forestry and non-governmental organizations dealing with forestry education in the countries participating in the competition. In Slovenia coordinators of this competition are The Scout Association of Slovenia and Slovenian Forestry Institute.


The contestants


1.    The participants of the contest in Slovenia are pupils of secondary schools, who at the beginning of the 2011/2012 school year were between the age of 14 and 18 years old.
2.    Participants take part in the competition in teams of three (one group per school). At least one team member must be good in English. Team member should be from different grades.
3.    The National Stage is composed of two parts – regional and national.


Subject range of the competition


3.    The topics include knowledge in the fields of nature, geography, nature conservation and forest sciences in the forests of Europe. The required subject range of the competition is to be found on the official internet page (www.ypef.eu).
4.    Each team answers the same list of questions, randomly selected according to the procedure laid down in the international regulations of YPEF, among the sets of questions prepared by the organizers from different countries and the YPEF International Contest Commission.
5.    The competition questions are prepared in English.
6.    Contestants prepare for the competition on the basis of materials in English posted on the website www.ypef.eu.


Competition process


7.    The First stage (Regional) of the National Stage takes place in secondary schools, which declare their taking part before the 1st of March 2011. There are 158 secondary schools in 12 regions. They can do this by sending their school application forms (one group of three pupils per school!) by e-mail at andrej.verlic@gozdis.s. The form must be signed by the headmaster (director) of the school and the coordinating teacher. Participation in the contest is voluntary. 
8.    While preparing for the contest, the students will familiarize with the YPEF materials, which will be posted on www.ypef.eu.
9.    The First stage (Regional) of the National Stage will be held on the 20st of April 2012, in all schools that have confirmed their participation. Directly before this date, schools will receive a list of question sets prepared by the YPEF International Contest Commission.
10.    In each school, a teacher will be appointed to coordinate the competition.
11.    Each school participating in the contest is required to carry out the contest on the 20st of April 2012, no later than by 18:00.
12.    The competition questions are constructed in the form of a test. For every question you get 0 or 1 point. The answer can be selected only once, no corrections or crossing out is permitted.
13.     After the test is completed, the coordinators in the schools will receive worksheet with the answers via e-mail. The tests should be checked according to this worksheet. The coordinator has to write a report on the ranking of the best results. All of this must be handed in before the end of April 2012 to the relevant member of contest commission. Tests and reports are reviewed by the National Contest Commission.
14.    The National Contest Commission is appointed by the Slovenian Scout Association and Slovenian Forestry Institute.
15.    The winning teams from regions – regional team scoring highest points, will do another test - National stage, on the 14st of May 2012. The procedure is the same as for the first – Regional stage. The results and reports must be handed in before the 18th of May 2012.
16.    The YPEF National Contest Commission is to check the tests and reports and provide a list of the results and the winning group. If there will be more than one group with the highest score, National Contest Commission will compare the sum of scores from the both national stages to get a single winning group with the highest combined score. If there still will be no unique winning team, these groups will be asked to prepare presentation about the competition topic and present them by the end of May 2012 at Slovenian Forestry Institute.
17.    The YPEF National Contest Commission will evaluate the presentations and declare the winning team.


Awards


19.    The main prize of the national stage of the International Contest "Young People in European Forests" YPEF 2011/2012 is the participation in the European stage of the contest. YPEF National Contest Commission will provide symbolic presents for the best Regional groups.
20.    The YPEF International Contest Commission YPEF determines how many teams from different countries will participate in the European Stage YPEF 2011/2012, which will be held in September 2012, based on the results of the National Stages.

 

Objavljamo drugo izvedbo Mednarodnega tekmovanja YPEF!

 

Med zasedanjem Mednarodne Komisije za Tekmovanje YPEF v Varšavi 7. decembra 2011, je bila najavljena druga izvedba Mednarodnega tekmovanja YPEF o gozdovih in gozdarstvu v Evropi. Organizacije iz enajstih držav: Avstrija, Češka, Estonija, Nemčija, Madžarska, Latvija, Litva, Poljska, Portugalska, Romunija in Slovenija so že prijavljene k sodelovanju.

 

Meeting of the YPEF International Contest Commission in Warsaw on 7th of December 2011

Nacionalne faze tekmovanja bodo potekale med 1. februarjem in 31. majem. Zmagovalne ekipe iz evropskih držav bodo sodelovale v evropskem finalu v Sagadi, Estoniji med 26. - 27. septembrom 2012. Vabimo mlade iz drugih evropskih držav k sodelovanju v Mednarodnem tekmovanju YPEF 2011/2012!

Dobrodošli na mednarodnem tekmovanju »Mladi v evropskih gozdovih« YPEF 2010/2011, ki poteka s podporo poljskega ministra za okolje Andrzeja Kraszewskega.


V Sloveniji  sta organizatorja tekmovanja Andrej Verlič z Gozdarskega inštituta Slovenije in Naja Benedičič, študentka gozdarstva.
Želimo, da bi udeleženci tekmovanja uspeli tako na nacionalnem kot na mednarodnem tekmovanju, ki bo potekalo na Poljskem.
Potrebne informacije so dostopne na spletni strani ( www.ypef.eu), kjer lahko najdete tudi gradivo za pripravo na tekmovanje.


Tekmovanje Mladi v evropskih gozdovih bo v Sloveniji potekalo 21. aprila 2011. Udeleženci tekmovanja bodo učenci osnovnih in srednjih šol, stari od dvanajst do osemnajst let. Člana nacionalne komisije v Sloveniji sta Andrej Verlič in Naja Benedičič.


Pravila mednarodnega tekmovanja "Mladi in evropski gozdovi" YPEF 2011


Mednarodno tekmovanje "Mladi in Evropski gozdovi je namenjeno mladim vseh evropskih držav. Namen tekmovanja je predstavitev delčkov evropske narave, gozdarstva, cilj pa je predvsem mladim približati pomen evropskih gozdov s posebnim poudarkom na "Naturi 2000". Organizacija tekmovanja je osnovana na  partnerstvu  institucij odgovornih za gozdarstvo in nevladnih organizacij, ki skrbijo za izobrazbo v gozdarstvu v državah, ki so se udeležile tekmovanja. Organizator tekmovanja je mednarodna komisija YPEF, ki jo je ustanovila The State Forests National Forest Holding in Forest Friends Association na Poljskem, v Sloveniji pa tekmovanje koordinira Gozdarski inštitut Slovenije.


Tekmovalci


1. Udeleženci tekmovanja v Sloveniji so učenci osnovnih in srednjih šol, ki so bili na začetku šolskega leta 2010/2011 stari med dvanajst in osemnajst let.
2. Tekmovalci se tekmovanja udeležijo v ekipah sestavljenih iz dveh ali treh učencev, od katerih mora vsaj eden dobro poznati angleški jezik.

3. Teme iz področja naravoslovja vsebujejo znanja iz geografije, ohranjanja naravne in o evropskih gozdovih. Več o temah in vsebini tekmovanja lahko najdete na uradni spletni strani ( www.ypef.eu ).
4. Vsaka ekipa odgovarja na enak seznam vprašanj, ki jih je mednarodna komisija naključno izbrala iz vprašalne liste vseh v tekmovanje udeleženih držav.
5. Vprašanja za tekmovanje so pripravljena v angleškem jeziku.
6. Udeleženci naj se na tekmovanje pripravijo na osnovi materialov, ki jih v angleščini lahko najdejo na spletni strani ( www.ypef.eu ).


Potek tekmovanja


7. Prvi del mednarodnega tekmovanja "Mladi in evropski gozdovi bo potekal v šolskem letu 2010/2011.
8. Tekmovanje na nacionalni ravni bo potekalo v šolah, ki se bodo na tekmovanje prijavile pred 31. marcem 2011. Obrazce za prijavo na tekmovanje lahko pošljejo po faksu ali elektronski pošti na naslov andrej.verlic@gozdis.si. Obrazec mora vsebovati podpis ravnatelja šole in učitelja – koordinatorja. Udeleženci tekmovanja so prostovoljci, zato ni potrebno, da na tekmovanju sodelujejo vsi učenci šole.
9. Med pripravo na tekmovanje se bodo učenci seznanili z materialom tekmovanja na spletni strani ( www.ypef.eu).
10. Na nacionalni ravni bo tekmovanje potekalo 21. aprila, na vseh prijavljenih šolah. Na dan tekmovanja bo vsaka šola prejela list z vprašanji, ki ga bo poslala mednarodna evropska komisija "YPEF".
11. Na vsaki šoli bo določen učitelj izbran za koordinatorja tekmovanja.
12. Vsaka sodelujoča šola mora tekmovanje opraviti na isti dan, to je 21. april 2011 najkasneje do 18 ure.
13. Tekmovalna vprašanja so zasnovana v obliki testa na podlagi gradiva dostopnega na spletni strani ( www.ypef.eu ).  Za vsak odgovor na vprašanje se lahko prejme 1 ali 0 točke. Vsako vprašanje ima na voljo le en pravilen odgovor. Vsak odgovor je lahko izbran le enkrat, popravki in črtanje odgovorov niso dovoljeni.
14. Po zaključenem tekmovanju 21. aprila 2011 bodo učitelji - koordinatorji prejeli odgovore po elektronski pošti. Vprašanja morajo biti preverjena in ocenjena na podlagi teh odgovorov. Potrebno je napisati poročilo glede popravljenih vprašalnih pol in seznam učencev ekipe z najboljšim rezultatom. Vse to je potrebno izvesti najkasneje do 10. maja. Testne pole in poročila morajo biti pregledana s strani regionalnega člana komisije.
15. Regionalna tekmovalna komisija je imenovana s strani Gozdarskega inštituta Slovenije. Naloga komisije je preveriti teste in poročila in posredovati seznam rezultatov na YPEF National contest commission.
16. Zmagovalec nacionalne ravni tekmovanja je ekipa, ki prejme največ točk.
17. Če je ekip z najvišjim številom doseženih točk več, bo na teh šolah potekalo dodatno tekmovanje. Vprašanja za dodatno tekmovanje bodo pripravljena s strani članov mednarodne komisije YPEF in bodo v skladu z mednarodnim pravilnikom YPEF.
18. Če v dodatnem tekmovanju ne bo očitnih zmagovalcev, bodo ti izbrani na osnovi najbolje pripravljene predstavitve tematike tekmovanja za Slovenijo.


Nagrade


19. Glavna nagrada mednarodnega tekmovanja "Mladi in evropski gozdovi" na nacionalni ravni je udeležba na mednarodnem evropskem tekmovanju, ki prav tako predvideva nagrade za zmagovalne ekipe in koordinatne učitelje.
20. YPEF mednarodna tekmovalna komisija določa koliko ekip iz različnih držav se bo udeležilo evropske ravni tega tekmovanja YPEF 2010/2011, ki se bo odvijalo v zadnjem tednu septembra 2011, zasnovano na rezultatih tekmovanja nacionalne ravni.

In Poland, the competition is organized by the National Commission YPEF established by The State Forests National Forest Holding and the Forest Friends Association. In Slovenia coordinator of this competition is Slovenian Forestry Institute.


The contestants


1.    The participants of the contest in Slovenia are pupils of primary and secondary schools, who at the beginning of the 2010/2011 school year were between the age of 12 and 18 years old.
2.    Participants take part in the competition in teams of two or three. At least one team member must be good in English.


Subject range of the competition


3.    The topics include knowledge in the fields of nature, geography, nature conservation and forest sciences in the forests of Europe. The required subject range of the competition is to be found on the official internet page (www.ypef.eu).
4.    Each team answers the same list of questions, randomly selected according to the procedure laid down in the international regulations of YPEF, among the sets of questions prepared by the organizers from different countries and the YPEF International Contest Commission.
5.    The competition questions are prepared in English.
6.    Contestants prepare for the competition on the basis of materials in English posted on the website www.ypef.eu.


Competition process


7.    The I Edition of the International Contest „Young People in European Forests” YPEF 2010/2011 takes place in the 2010/2011 school year.
8.    The National Stage of the competition takes place in schools, which declare their taking part before the 31st of March 2011. They can do this by sending their school application forms by e-mail on andrej.verlic@gozdis.si. The form must be signed by the headmaster (director) of the school and the coordinating teacher. Participation in the contest is voluntary and does not necessarily include all the school students.
9.    While preparing for the contest, the students will familiarize with the YPEF materials, which will be posted on www.ypef.eu.
10.    The National Stage of the contest will be held on the 21st of April 2011, in all schools that have confirmed their participation. Directly before this date, schools will receive a list of questions set by the YPEF International Contest Commission.
11.    In each school, a teacher will be appointed to coordinate the competition.
12.    Each school participating in the contest is required to carry out the contest on the 21st of April 2011, no later than 18:00.
13.    The competition questions are constructed in the form of a test. For every question you get 0 or 1 point. The answer can be selected only once, no corrections or crossing out is permitted.
14.     After the test is completed on the 21st of April 2011, the coordinators in the schools will receive worksheet with the answers via e-mail. The tests should be checked according to this worksheet. The coordinator has to write a report on the ranking of the best results. All of this must be handed in before the 10th of May 2011 to the relevant member of contest commission. Tests and reports are reviewed by the Regional Contest Commission.
15.    The Regional Contest Commission is appointed by the Slovenian Forestry Institute. The commission is to check the tests and reports and provide a list of the results and the winning group to the YPEF National Contest Commission. 
16.    The winners of the national stage of the competition are the teams that receive the highest number of points.
17.    Where more than one team gains the highest number of points, an additional contest will be conducted for them in school. Questions for this additional competition are drawn by the YPEF International Contest Commission in accordance with international rules YPEF.
18.    If no clear winners emerge from the extra competition, the finalists of the national stage of the contest will be chosen from the best presentation of Slovenian forests and protected areas.


Awards


19.    The main prize of the national stage of the International Contest "Young People in European Forests" YPEF 2010/2011 is the participation in the European stage of the contest. YPEF National Contest Commission also provides prices for the students - the members of the winning teams and for teacher caretakers.
20.    The YPEF International Contest Commission YPEF determines how many teams from different countries will participate in the European Stage YPEF 2010/2011, which will be held in September 2011, based on the results of the National Stages.
