YPEF National Stage in Greece

The Greek Stage of the YPEF Contest was held on Saturday 20 of April 2013. The Contest was organized by the Special Secretariat for Forests, the Management Body of Parnitha National Forest Park, and the local forest services.  

134 teams of students participated to the contest. Congratulation to all the students for their effort. 

 

The Contest language was English. The students had to answer to 50 multiple choice questions, concerning  a. general issues of European nature, forests and forestry and b. nature, forests and forestry of 19 European countries. The questions were selected by the International YPEF Commission. 

 

According to the ranking score the winning team is that consisting of Anastasia Antoniadou, Xara Georgoglou and Paraskevi Theocharopoulou students from the Secondary school of Makrochorio - Imathia. 

 

The second place goes to Napoleon Tsiakarakis, Ahtanasios Efstathiou and Maria Chalasti, students of the Secondary school and High School of Limni - Evia.

 

Evaggelia Efstathiou and Alexandros Alexiou, students of the High School of Limni Evia took the third place.

 

The winning team will represent Greece to the European Contest which will take place on 25-26 September 2013, in Peneda-Geres National Park – Portugal.

 

We wish to Anastasia, Xara and Paraskevi good luck and similar success to the European Contest.
