The 18 representatives from 12 countries were hosted by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management and Union of Austrian Foresters.

Austria was represented by Mr. Thomas Baschny from Union of Austrian Foresters, Cyprus by Mr. Marios Christodoulou from Cyprus Foresters’ Association, Czech Republic by Mr. Stanislav Janský from Association of Municipal and Private Forest Owners, Estonia by Ms. Juta Jago and Mr. Taavi Toom from Estonian Society of Foresters, Hungary by Mr. László Hoczek and Mr. Pál Kovácsevics from National Forest Association, Latvia by Ms. Inga Pētersone from Latvia’s State Forests, Lithuania by Mr. Mindaugas Maksvytis from Lithuanian Union of Foresters, Poland by Mr. Jacek Zadura from State Forests National Forest Holding, Mr. Andrzej Kawalec, Mr. Maciej Białecki and Ms. Anna Trzosińska from Forest Friends Association and Prof. Albert Dudek from Warsaw University of Life Sciences, Portugal and Spain were represented by Mr. Fernando Molina Martinez from Confederation of Spanish Forest Owners Organisations, Romania by Mr. Robert Georg Pache from National Forest Administration ROMSILVA, Slovenia by Ms. Naja Benedičič from Slovenian Forestry Institute and Ukraine by Mr. Sergiy Sheremeta from State Forest Resources Agency of Ukraine.

The meeting was very fruitful. Practical and organization issues of International Contest in every country and in European scope were discussed. The National Stages are being prepared at least in following countries: Austria, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Ukraine. Organizers of the Contest has shared with their experiences.

The new Rules of the Contest were accepted by the YPEF International Commission. The most important changes are about International Commission and the amount of drawn questions. Changes can be seen have link.

During the meeting YPEF International Contest Commission has been enlarged. New members are: Ms. Naja Benedičič from Slovenia, Mr. Marios Christodoulou from Cyprus, Ms. Juta Jago from Estonia, Mr. Stanislav Janský from Czech Republic, Mr. Mindaugas Maksvytis from Lithuania, Mr. Robert George Pache from Romania, Ms. Inga Pētersone from Latvia and Mr. Sergiy Sheremeta from Ukraine.

During the meeting the International Contest “Young People in European Forests” YPEF 2010/2011 was officially announced.

YPEF Contest is taking place in school year 2010/2011 in 11 European countries so far.
