The national stage in Estonia

ypef 03/05/2013

Pupils from Rapla Gymnasiums: Sander Puntso and Saamuel Rõigas.

This year the contest in Estonia was held in two stages in March: first forest quiz for pupils all over Estonia with 50 questions. Alltogether there were over 150 teams participating from 52 schools. 15 teams with best results were to participate in the national final. As the results were equal for 4 teams, 18 teams had the chance to participate in the national final.
National stage was held in two parts: first the quiz and second a poster about the future forests from the perspective of the pupils. Recommendations for the future were from wall to wall with some suggesting to protect the whole forests, others proposing more sustainable and effective management.
The best team collecting the most points from quiz and poster was team "Copper Owl" from Tallinn French Lyceum, pupils Annaleena Vaher, Airon Oravas, Mati Lepikson, who were also the team with best result in the national first stage.
