In Romania, the National Stage of the International Contest YPEF 2014 was organized by the National Forest Administration - ROMSILVA.

 The National Stage was organized in two phases:

 ü  High School Phase - was organized in April 7-11, within the traditional forestry high schools and was supervised by an internal commission. 

 ü  Final Phase - was organized in May 7-9. The contest had two parts:

-          first part: test (answering a list of 50 prepared questions about European forests);

-          second part: short PP-presentation on the different topics related to forestry and biodiversity.

The winning team of the National Contest in Romania is from Gurghiu forestry high school and they are:

 They were trained by two teachers: Matei Virginia and Albu Cristian.

The contest and the reward ceremony was held in Călimănești Resort, Vâlcea County, at Casa Romanească Hotel. After the contest the participants were in a field visit in the beautiful Cozia National Park (www.cozia.ro).
