New photo contest: „Our Forests”

We are announcing new YPEF mini photo contest, under the title: “Our Forests”!

Each participant has to send two photos: 

The first photo should present the role of forest in our environment - how we can use any goods that forest gives us (e.g. different ways of spending leisure time in forest, usage of forest resources like wood, mushrooms or fruits etc.) 

The second photo should show how people can affect forest ecosystem - how we can care about forests, not only by participating in Clean Up the World events, but also by foresters work, planting new trees, timber harvesting etc.

We count on your creativity!

Two photos have to be sent via e-mail to ypef.photocontest@gmail.com with the subject of message: Photo contest “Our Forests”.

In order to participate in the contest you have to get familiar with the rules!

The deadline for sending works is October 31st 2014.

The results will be published on November 21st 2014.

New mini photo contest!

     We are announcing new series of mini photo contests YPEF! This year contests will be done in a slightly different form. In the next editions we will encourage participants to focus on the chosen characteristic elements of forest ecosystems.
     The first photo contest is entitled “Coniferous forest”!
     Each participant must send two photos:
1.    The first photo must present the chosen coniferous species i.e. with an overview of its habitat and adjacent plants.
2.    The second photo must show the chosen characteristic element of the tree in the micro shot.
     Two photos have to be sent only via e-mail to ypef.photocontest@gmail.com with the subject of message: photo contest “Coniferous forest” .
Remember to enclose in the photos’ title the species name!


The deadline for sending works is the 31st March 2014.


Important! Rules of the contest have been changed. Please get familiar with rules of the contest.

The results will be published on the 25th of April 2014.

Forest Friends Association Photo Contest “Forest Photographer of the Year 2013”

Each year, Forest Friends Associations asks and encourages young people to send photographs that speak to a particular theme related with forests matters. Photos were judged on educational merits, creativity and photographic quality by panel of experts in the field of forest educations. This year in our contests participated almost 700 young amateur photo enthusiasts from over whole Poland!!!

 

Thank you for your participations and commitment!


As we wrote in the contests rules of the “Autumn Forest “,  we’ve selected mini-contests participants who gained the most points in total in all mini contests in 2013: ”Forest in Winter”, “Spring in the Forest”, “Autumn Forest”.

Recognition for YPEF photo contests!

European Forest Institute appreciates the works submitted for the YPEF photo contests. Six photos were selected to help to illustrate the issues of the Pan-European conference "The criteria and indicators for sustainable forest management in Europe" which was held on the 8th and 9th of October in Vienna. Co-organizers of the conference were: UNECE /FAOFORESTEUROPE Liaison Unit Madrid, Finnish Research Institute(METL) and the German Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and  Consumer Protection (BMELV). Photos took by Honorata Gręda, Martyna Jurczak, Michalina Baran, Anna Żyła, Adam Bernacki and Adam Gąsior were changed to postcards to illustrate the most important criteria which were the subject of the conference.

On the cards’ reverses you can find the authors' names, titles of the photos and YPEF logo . Click on each image to see a card. Congratulations to the authors of photographs!

 

Photo Contest "Autumn Forest" begins!

Send us your autumn forest photo by 20 December 2013! Remember that you can send only one picture, and that the title of your picture should be in English. Good luck!


Photo contest „Autumn Forest” 2013 – rules of the contest

1. The contest is held for the promotion of the “Young People in European Forests” contest. The deadline for sending works is 20th December 2013.

2. The territory for taking the photos is the territory of European countries. Any photomontage which compiles elements of pictures from different files or making changes to the original composition of the photo is not allowed. The photos have to be sent only via e-mail to ypef.photocontest@gmail.com with the subject of message: photo contest “Autumn Forest”

3. The photos must be in JPG format. The longer edge of the picture must be at least 2400 pixels long.

4. The participants of the photo contest can be pupils from all kinds of schools from any European country. The contest is held in Polish and English languages.

5. Each participant of the photo contest can send by email one photo referring to a topic “Autumn Forest” to the address ypef.photocontest@gmail.com The photo must refer to forest or forest resources, can be taken in any European country. The e-mail, apart from the photo must contain:

- name of the participant

- address

- phone number

- age of the participant

- school of the participant

- title of the photo in English , date and venue of its taking

6. By applying to the contest the participant agrees that his name and name of the school can be published on the ranking list or used for other purposes necessary for the organization of the contest.

7. The participant of the contest declares that: He has sole and unlimited rights to the sent photo and that all persons visible on the photo agree for the photo’s publication.

8. The participant grants to the organizer a free, territorially unlimited license for publishing the photo by the organizer for the needs of the photo contest, YPEF contest and promotion of organizations associated in YPEF project, as well as for all other activities necessary for sharing the photo and fulfillment of the contest, in particular sharing in computer networks, Internet, copying and multiplying by any technique.

9. The organizer is not liable for any incorrect data gave by the applicants, in particular for the change of personal data and/or e-mail address, which make impossible to find the participant and/or handing a reward.

10. The organizer is not liable for any incorrectness resulting from malfunctioning of internet connection or computer systems, and for other circumstances independent of the organizer, which hinder participation in the contest and/or fulfillment of all requirements specified in these rules of the contest.

11. The participant relieves the organizer and other entities co-organizing the contest from liability for publishing the sent photos, and in case of appearing any claims of third parties concerning discrepancy with the actual or legal state of the declarations mentioned in no. 7 will settle all costs resulting from this fact.

12. The photos shall be evaluated by the Commission of the Photo Contest, giving for each photo a mark from 1 to 10 points. The rewards will be granted for the winner, additionally 10 best photos will be recognized and published on website www.ypef.eu.

13. The list of winners – 1. place and the recognized – will be published until 24th January 2014 on the website www.ypef.eu and on facebook www.facebook.com/YPEF.EU. The winners will be notified about the way of receiving the reward by phone or by e-mail.

14. The reward will be delivered by courier service to the given address.

15. The rewards cannot be exchanged for money equivalent.

16. The participation in the contest is equivalent to agreeing by the participants to relieve the organizer and its partners from liability for any claims and damages resulting from participation in the contest, or other activities connected with the contest, including accepting and usage, misuse or owning the won reward in the contest.

17. The points scored in the contest will be summed up with the points scored in other YPEF photo contests organized in 2013: ”Forest in Winter”, “Spring in the Forest”. The total number of points scored in all these contests will allow to select the Forest Photographer of the Year.

18. By sending the photo for the contest, the participant declares that he is familiar with and accepts all the above rules of the contest.
