LET´S GO PAINTING! Drawing competition "What is the forest for me" is prolongated. Until 7^th March you can send works to Brussels in the drawing competition for children, organized by the EU Directorate General for Agriculture and Rural Development. The competition is addressed for children at the age of 6-10 years. Young participants are requested to make a drawing (A4 format) expressing their vision of the competition theme. There can be a caption (up to 5 lines) written on the drawing, preferably in English, but other languages are admissible. The winner will receive a new iPad and a trip to Brussels (together with parents or tutors). We have published the 4th question in YPEF mini-contest Forest Quiz. This question concerns Portuguese forests and is asked by Andreia Avila – representing FORESTIS organization – the host of this year’s European Final of YPEF in Portugal.

Already in March the YPEF national stage contests will be held in some of the countries. Below please find the important dates concerning national stages in Portugal, Estonia, Greece, Poland and Hungary.

Portugal: Registration for the contest open until: 16^th of April, First test (qualifications) – 19^th of April, Second test (national final) – 3^rd of May. Estonia: 1st stage (qualifications) – 6^th of March, 2nd stage (national final) – 25^th of March. Greece: National stage – 20^th of April. Poland: Registration for the contest open until: 26^th of February, First test (qualifications) – 20^th of March, Second test (national final) – 21^st of May. Hungary: Registration for the contest open until: 15^th of February, First test (qualifications) – 21^st  of March, Second test (national final) – 1^st of June.

Information about contests in other countries will follow soon.

Dear participants of YPEF contest,

on 1^st of February we made slight changes in the YPEF Booklet III edition, that is published on YPEF website. The changes were limited to the page no. 110 and concerned statistical data on organization of forestry in Poland. Those of you who printed the booklet before this date please be aware that you need to replace this one page.
